ITINERARY

Off to Kafue
You will fly overnight to Lusaka, on arrival in Lusaka you will be met and transferred by Sefofane light aircraft to Kafue National Park.

Day 1, 2 & 3
You will stay for the next three nights at Lufupa Camp, northern Kafue. You will have a private driver / guide.

Lufupa Camp is situated in the centre of the northern sector of Kafue. The beauty of the park is evident in its diverse habitats with floodplains, miombo woodland, thick riverine vegetation and open grassy areas called dambos. There are resident prides of lion and leopard are frequently seen as well as countless other species such as elephant and hippo, to name but a few

Day 4 & 5
Depart Lufupa for an early morning game / transfer drive to Musanza Tented Camp. Musanza Tented Camp is located deep inside the wildlife haven of the Busanga Plains of Kafue National Park.

The Busanga Plains’ most dominant antelope species include red lechwe and puku, while buffalo, bushbuck, kudu, oribi, reedbuck, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, sable and roan are also often viewed in this enormous open plains system.

There are also hippo and crocodile; however the main plains predators are lion and cheetah and spotted hyaena with wild dogs less often seen. Leopard can also be spotted along the wooded tree lines fringing the plains, as well as elephant. Bird life is fantastic, with large flocks of pelicans, crowned cranes and wattled crane in the plains at certain times of the year.

Day 6 & 7
After an early breakfast, we depart for an early morning game drive / transfer to Busanga Bush Camp which is located in the heart of the Busanga Plains.

The Busanga Plains cover an area of approximately 290 sq miles and Busanga Bush Camp is located in the centre of this wildlife paradise. The Plains are home to hundreds of red lechwe, ubiquitous puku, stately roan and the diminutive oribi. Lichtenstein's hartebeest, herds of wildebeest, zebra and buffalo make for a full set of antelope.

This wealth of game on the plains is also a big attraction for predators, including wild dog, cheetah and prides of lion. For those interested in birding, the park boasts 491 species, including endemics such as Chaplin's Barbet. This itinerary specifically goes to 2 location within or near the Busanga Plains, allowing for in-depth exploration of this phenomenal ecosystem.

Day 8
After an early breakfast, depart by helicopter from Busanga Bush Camp to Busanga airstrip, from there light aircraft transfer to Lusaka Airport, where the safari ends.

This itinerary is available from £2,355 per person, including domestic air transfers and taxes, accommodation on a shared basis, transfers, meals and activities as indicated.
