Kinasi Lodge
Kinasi Lodge is a small luxury lodge for twenty guests. Built with natural materials and traditional palm thatching, the lodge is situated in a coconut and cashew plantation overlooking Chole Bay and the islands of Chole, Jibondo and Juani. Large rooms are decorated with hand-made furniture, each with an elevated wooden veranda shaded under thatch, a private bathroom, armchairs, tables and a hammock. The rooms are designed for total comfort and privacy and catch the refreshing sea breezes off the bay.
Kinasi is beautifully furnished. The dining room and communal lounge areas are decorated with original works of East African art, antiques and hand-crafted furniture throughout. The excellent Swahili cuisine is based upon local seafood: fresh fish, prawns, crab, lobster, octopus and calamari, with fresh vegetables and fruit flown from the mainland. The lodge also makes its own breads, rolls, pizzas and variety of yoghurts, preserves and sauces.
For watersports enthusiasts Kinasi is without question the best choice on Mafia. There is a fully equipped on-site dive centre as well as a watersports cabin on the beach where guests can arrange windsurfing, sailing and kayak hire.
