Saadani Safari Lodge

Saadani National Park is situated approximately 20 minutes by light aircraft north from Dar es Salaam and lies directly on the Indian Ocean coast.

The park is home to a wide variety of game including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, zebra, eland and hippo, and Saadani Safari Lodge is the only lodge within the national park boundaries.

The lodge is situated right on the beach, which makes it unique in being able to offer all the wildlife viewing attractions of a traditional safari lodge, as well as all the activities you would associate with a beach lodge, such as snorkelling, fishing and boat trips.

Accommodation at Saadani Safari Lodge is in nine tented cottages opening onto verandas decked with couches overlooking the ocean.  Each has an en suite bathroom and is furnished with locally produced furniture. A short walk from the rooms, the communal areas include a viewing deck from where you can relax with your favourite cocktail and watch the wildlife at the lodge’s waterhole

During the day safari activities include boat trips up the Wami River, and 4x4 game drives, and on the beach you can snorkel, sunbathe, or arrange a boat trip to one of the sand islands nearby for a picnic lunch.

The lodge also arranges walking safaris and fly camping within the Saadani National Park.  Fly camping will need to be arranged at the time of booking, so please ask us for more information if this is of interest.
