Mnemba Island Lodge
Mnemba Island Lodge is situated on an exclusive island off the north-eastern tip of Zanzibar. The island, which was recently voted one of the three 'most romantic ocean destinations in the world' by Conde Nast Traveller, is 1.5 kilometres in circumference, dotted with palms and is surrounded by an atoll of dazzling coral reefs.
The spectacular accommodation consists of 10 huge Zanzibari bandas with direct access to the beach. Each banda is built of indigenous materials, mostly woven and thatched palm leaves, and has an en-suite bathroom, hot and cold water, ceiling fans and a spacious outdoor veranda.
Relaxation is the name of the game at Mnemba and the tempo of the day is yours to choose. The guest areas are all open sided, cooled by sea breezes; informal and relaxed. There is a small library with a selection of wildlife books, games and magazines. The turquoise sea is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing and scuba diving - all of which are included at no extra cost. There is good bird-watching on the island and a range of relaxing massages and therapeutic treatments are offered to enhance your holiday.
