The Swahili House

Recently re-opened, The Swahili House is a beautifully restored, 19th century Indian merchant’s house located in the heart of Stone Town and is in an ideal location for exploring the bustling market, shops and restaurants.

Swahili House has 22 air conditioned rooms, decorated in traditional antique Swahili style and positioned around a beautiful courtyard. Many rooms have open bathrooms with a both a shower and a large stone bath in which you can relax and unwind after exploring Stone Town.

Our favourite feature of this wonderful hotel is a large rooftop area complete with a bar, restaurant and plenty of room to lounge.
