Bluebay Beach Resort is situated on the finest wide, white, sandy beach on the island of Zanzibar. The Resort is on a 30-acre site with its bedroom cottages located on rising ground overlooking verdant gardens, the public areas, the pool, the sparkling white beach and the azure seas beyond. The Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa is located on the East Coast on the Island of Zanzibar, in an area known as Kiwengwa. The Resort is less than an hour's drive from Stone Town and Zanzibar Airport on an all weather tarmac road.

Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa will be celebrating it's 10th anniversary in Dec 2009. In the last two years, various refurbishments and upgrades have taken place, the major one being from April to July 2008 when the Resort was closed for a tasteful face-lift of all rooms and brand new makuti roofs as well as servicing/replacement of all electrical equipments and appliances. A complete renewal and redesign of all soft furnishings (all curtains, cushions and bedspreads) and a new concept for all the restaurants was also implemented.

Being one of the first establishments on the Island of Zanzibar means the Bluebay Hotels had the opportunity to select the finest possible location for this flagship property of the Group. Each Room & Suite (in all the room categories) bears the hallmarks of a spacious bedroom, separate dressing room, en suite bathroom and a verandah or balcony.

All the rooms are tastefully decorated using traditional Zanzibar furniture which include large four poster beds with mosquito nets, a writing bureau, coffee table and easy chairs. Split level air conditioners, ceiling fans, satellite TV's, mini-bars, hair dryers, safes and telephones add a touch of luxury to each room whilst the presence of smoke detectors and fire alarms are a sign of our committment to the safety and well-being of our guests.
