Shooting Star Lodge

Shooting Star Lodge is situated at the very northern end of the wide white Kiwengwa beach, perched on a cliff overlooking the sparkling Indian Ocean. The hotel is run by Elly and Lesley, its friendly owners whose personal style of management give the place a special atmosphere more akin to a small guesthouse than a beach resort.

 

The eleven sea view cottages are light and spacious with en-suite bathrooms and traditional Zanzibari decor and furnishings. Carved four-poster beds are draped with colourful mosquito nets and silk cushions to create a romantic yet simple ambience. There are also three garden lodge rooms. 

The restaurant at the Shooting Star Lodge serves a wide variety of African and international cuisine, specialising in lobster, meat grills and smoked fish and it is regarded as one of the best on the island. The enticing new infinity-edge swimming pool has glorious views of the Indian Ocean and Elly and Lesley can organise scuba diving, snorkelling and other watersports.
