The Lodge
There are ten spacious private bungalows, beautifully decorated in the traditional Zanzibari style.
Unguja Lodge has seven Sea View Villas, each with direct sea views and a private terrace overlooking the Menai Bay, from which you can watch local fishermen sailing the Indian Ocean.
The three Baobab Villas face the beautiful gardens, and have their own plunge pools. Each villa has a spacious bedroom, a baraza-style sitting room, a large bathroom, and an upstairs landing.
The flora and fauna of the site are beautiful: Unguja Lodge’s beautiful garden has old mango trees and many baobab trees. Unguja Lodge also has a large swimming pool and a cocktail bar, and is home to the PADI 5 star dive centre ‘One Ocean’ which operates the resort’s snorkelling and diving activities.
Enjoy traditional Dhow trips to the Menai conservation area, walk along the short nature trail to the small beach, or go on a guided village tour. Private barbeque lunches on a small deserted island and water activities (diving, snorkelling and dolphin watching) are also available.
